CHARACTERS

THE PHANTOM: Between 35 and 50 years old in appearance. A disfigured genius who inhabits the bowels of the Paris Opera. Elegant, attractive, passionate, but bitter. With a hypnotic voice and tremendous physical power who falls in love with Christine, a young soprano.
Vocal requirements: high baritone with a wide voice range of at least two octaves (Lab3 to A5).

CHRISTINE DAAÉ: Looks in her twenties. Soprano with notions of dance. A young and beautiful soprano, she begins her career in the ballet of the Paris Opera and, with the training and love of the Phantom, becomes a great singer.
Vocal requirements: soprano with a range between G3 and E6.

RAOUL DE CHAGNY: between 25 and 35 years old. Young aristocrat, romantic and attractive.
Vocal requirements: light baritone, with vocal register between G#3 and G#5.

CARLOTTA: Between 30 and 40 years old. Voluminous, somewhat fleshy, exuberant. The Prima Donna of the Paris Opera. A diva in every sense of the word.
Vocal requirements: soprano with coloratura with a register between C4 and E6.

MONSIEUR FIRMIN: Between 45 and 60 years old. He is co-manager and co-owner of the Paris Opera. A slightly comical figure. Astute for business, but ignorant for the artistic. Preferably tall and thin.
Vocal requirements: baritone (A3 to F4).

MONSIEUR ANDRE: Between 35 and 45 years old. The other co-manager and co-owner of the Paris Opera. With more artistic knowledge. Preferably low and thick.
Vocal requirements: high baritone (A3 to G5).

MADAME GIRY: Between 40 and 50 years old. Ballet teacher of the Paris Opera. Strong as an actress and singer. She has the fine body of an old dancer, she is tall and with starched manners, but dignified.
Vocal requirements: mezzo-soprano (A#3 to Bb5).

UBALDO PIANGI: appearance between 40 and 50 years old. Corpulent. The star tenor of the Opera. He has been working with Carlotta for some seasons.
Vocal requirements: Tenor Treble (D4 to C6 (C over Treble))

MEG GIRY: Appearance between late adolescence and early twenties. She is Madame Giry’s daughter. Member of the Opera Ballet. Dancer with classical technique. They will have a dance and singing test.
Vocal requirements: good vocal technique (A#3 to A5).

DANCERS: dancers with classical technique who can sing.
