Kinky Boots is a musical adapted from the 2005 film of the same name, known as Pisando fuerte in Spain and Audacious Boots for Different Feet in some Latin American countries. With music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and a libretto written by Harvey Fierstein, the story centers on Charlie Price, a young man who, after the unexpected death of his father, is forced to return to Northampton to take over the family business: an old-fashioned shoe factory on the verge of bankruptcy.
To save the company, Charlie forms an unexpected alliance with Lola, a flamboyant drag queen, who will guide him in the task of diversifying the product and finding his own path in the business world.
