LETSGO presents a new take on Cabaret: more immersive, more dazzling, more necessary than ever.
This September, the UMusic Hotel will leave behind the concept of a conventional theatre to fully transform into the Kit Kat Klub —the most provocative club in early 20th century Berlin.
Cabaret isn’t just another opening night. It arrives in Madrid as a revolutionary proposition: an immersive show that doesn’t just aim to entertain you, but to challenge you and —why not?— maybe even wake you up. Forget what you thought you knew about classical musicals. LETSGO brings the cabaret to your reality, blending party, politics and raw emotion in one unforgettable night.
We’ll take you back to 1930s Germany and into the Kit Kat Klub, that lays bare the tension between day and night. Two realities coexist in strange harmony: outside, the rising threat to freedom and civil rights; inside, the utopia of abandon, desire and escape that ignites the cabaret stage night after night. —Doesn’t sound so far removed from today, does it?
This production follows a sweeping success in London, where the revival won seven Olivier Awards in 2022 (including Best Revival), and its recent Broadway triumph, crowned with multiple Tony Awards and Drama Desk Awards. Now it lands in Madrid, reimagined as an immersive experience where the audience doesn’t just watch, they enter, they sit, they join, they become part of it. Pre-show, show, and after-show: there’s no barrier between you and the spectacle.
So, what seemed like a purely aesthetic party becomes a space that demands questions: Will you just sit back and enjoy? Will you choose not to see?
Or will you let the show make you think?
The cast —featuring Abril Zamora as the Emcee, Amanda Digón, Pepe Nufrio, Carmen Conesa, among others— don’t just play characters. They embody symbols: of desire as distraction, of love as shelter, of music as resistance.
Cabaret isn’t escapism. It’s a warning.
At a time when entertainment risks numbing us instead of stirring us —and war is still painfully present, in Gaza, in Ukraine, with tensions rising elsewhere— Cabaret returns to the stage to remind us that sometimes, to entertain is also to awaken.
